2025-26 Season Information

Updated 5/23/2025

Here is the preliminary schedule for the season. This is a work in process as much information is not yet available, but this should give you a pretty good picture of the season. Fall Golf consumes all of August, September and early October if we send some boys to state.

Tryouts August 4th and 5th

Important Notes about the upcoming season:

  • Max 15 Player Team Roster- (Team selection dependent upon performance in tryouts. Also, If you are participating in summer Junior PGA events it can also influence team selection. There are always opportunities throughout the season to move up if your shooting good scores)

    • Team A (5 players)- Compete in Jeffco Varsity events

    • Team B- (5 players)- Compete in Varsity Invitationals

    • Team C- (5 Players)- Compete in Gold Crown Events

  • Jeffco Supports Varsity Tournaments Only (No JV)

    • There are a total of 6 Jeffco Varsity multi-team tournaments during the season. There are no JV events, therefore we have to create a JV season by signing up for Varsity Invitationals and Gold Crown Events. Also, our coaching staff is not really equipped to cater to beginner golfers. We assume that boys trying out for the team have a decent level of golf proficiency and that they play and practice frequently, and also participate in Junior PGA golf events in the summer.

  • Season Practices At Hiwan Only

    • We will no longer be practicing at Evergreen Golf Course

    • We will provide more details in the coming weeks on how we will be handling practice. Team C will have limited Hiwan practice access.

  • Summer Activities (Voluntary)

    • Play and/or practice everyday, especially your short game (75% of your practice should be on your short game)

    • Compete in Junior PGA events  https://juniorgolf.coloradopga.com/junior-player-series

    • Get lessons, I recommend Fox Hollow or Trent Wearner (for non Hiwan golfers), they are very welcoming and also offer group lessons...  I am happy to help set these sessions up if you are interested.(again voluntary)

    • Make sure you have good equipment, call me...  there are creative inexpensive solutions that I can share with you

  • Please Spread the Word

    • If you are aware of incoming freshman golfers please connect them to this website.  Also please forward to upper classman that may have interest in golf as well.

  • 5 Varsity Spots Are Wide Open

    • As you are aware we are coming off back-to-back state titles and we are losing 8 seniors.  There are 5 varsity spots up for grabs...  if you put in the work this summer and get your game to the next level, you can earn one of these spots.

  • Swag Store

Hopefully this helps, I've been getting hit with a lot of emails asking about the season.  Call me anytime if you have questions... phone or text is my preferred method of communication outside of the golf season.

Regards,
